ISTRIA, SV. PETAR IN THE FOREST - Stone villa

Description
A small Istrian town - Sveti Petar in the Forest hides a villa that extends to 311 square meters. It is a villa that has five bedrooms and three internal and one external bathroom. In addition, it is equipped with a heated pool, children's pool, tavern with a large fireplace next to the spacious summer kitchen and a children's park. The children's room has a glass roof, and in the dining room there is a huge table made of old oak, suitable for large gatherings. The house has two fireplaces that make the space even warmer and more comfortable, and within the building you can find more than 50 types of roses. The interesting interior of the villa consists of rattan furniture, sloping ceilings but also a stone sink and stone supports of a small bar in the kitchen. The villa also has stone floors and a stone sink and washbasins with a copper faucet and it is precisely these handmade stone details of the villa that make it unique. Interestingly, the kitchen lacks the upper elements, and the lower ones are improvised so that fabrics that act like sliding doors are attached to the wooden supports, just as country houses used to have. However, the magnificence of the stone does not cease to stand out only in the kitchen, because in the bedroom, concrete pillars on which solid wood was applied were also used as bed supports. Villa was not built for rent, but was created as a home, on a 60-year-old tradition, and the owners and their ancestors are Istrians, so they feel a duty to preserve the Istrian tradition in every way, they claim. - Istrians are above all hospitable, as evidenced by the number of compliments in the category of hospitality, and then in the category of content, which includes the interaction with guests and meeting their requirements. But the peculiarity of the villa itself, they claim, is the feeling that dominates Istrian houses. - There is almost no guest who entered the house without noting that the house has a soul and that they feel at home - the owner proudly pointed out. They were not guided by a certain style when decorating the villa, and they claim that Istria today unfortunately loses its characteristics due to new trends that are being imposed. - Under the guise of stone walls combined with a lot of glass, the preservation of tradition is misinterpreted, because the Istrian house was not like that - he says. "Baladur" is a trademark of the Istrian traditional house, and it is usually three times longer than wider, in the shape of the letter I, LT or U. The opening of the house is always twice as high as wider, and they are always vertically arranged. The indispensable element of such a house are the stone frames around the windows, the so-called "hammers", "grandals" and "volts" that adorn and enrich the facades of the Istrian house. It is a style that we respect, owing gratitude for the heritage and living space in which we find ourselves - he points out. The villa has been rented since 2014, and for the last two years it has been booked throughout the year. Apart from the tradition of themselves and their families, the owners are extremely proud of the reactions of the guests, and among them are those who are somewhat more famous.
